The team today saw the culmination of weeks of work to organise the Lifeboat’s ten year refit and installation of new engines by Marine Specialised Technology Group in Liverpool. Even though we keep our boat in tip top condition, we always knew this 10 year refit was recommended by the manufacturers and we have been planning it for a while now. We are now off service until our boat returns to the village looking like new. We would like to thank all our donors and supporters, who by their ever generous support, have made this possible as its a huge piece of expenditure for us.
We now have an empty shed. This reminds us somewhat of the same situation ten years ago when the Station was closed and we campaigned so vigorously to secure our own boat and to become an Independent Lifeboat Station.
