Back in February we launched our 10th Anniversary Design Competition to create a flag and bunting to decorate the harbour over the summer months. The competition was run in partnership with Eyemouth High School and Eyemouth and District Rotary Club, with TransPennine Trains providing sponsorship for the prizes.
Pupils from Eyemouth High School and the surrounding primary schools in Reston, Ayton, Eyemouth, Cockburnspath and Coldingham really embraced the challenge and 128 entries were received. The standard was incredibly high across the board with all entries displaying an amazing level of creativity and artistic flair whilst hitting the brief, absolutely on point.
The winning entries are as follows:
1st prize Ava Crowe from Eyemouth High School. Ava receives a one-off T shirt printed with her design. The Station flag and bunting is printed with her design on it. She also receives a cash prize of £50.
Equal 2nd prize : Archie B from Reston Primary, and Freya from Coldingham Primary. Archie and Freya receive one-off T shirts printed with their design and a £25 cash prize.

The winners were chosen by a group of independent judges from Eyemouth & District Rotary Club and Dunbar T Shirt shop. All entries were presented to the judges anonymously and the winners were chosen according to the visual strength of their design and their connection with the brief.
In any competition there have to be winners….but we are very keen to make sure that all the entries get recognition. As a result, below you can view all the other 124 entries and we hope you agree with us that they are a beautiful celebratory collection for our 10th Anniversary year.
We will have the originals on display in the village over the Gala weekend on 1st August – we’ll let you know where and when nearer the time!
