Kings Coronation Medals Awarded

We are proud to announce that 22 of our crew were this evening awarded with the Kings Coronation medal at a presentation with Susan Duncan from HM Coastguard. The Coronation Medal is being given to frontline members of the emergency services who had completed five years’ continued service by the date of the Kings Coronation on 6 May 2023.

Made of nickel silver, it has the royal cypher on one side and images of the King and Queen Consort on the other. The first coronation medal was awarded to mark the accession to the English throne of James I in 1603 and featured a bust of the king in the costume of a Roman emperor.
